Most of the the coins minted were a of pretty good quality, Buffalo Nickels with nice details should be easy to find. If your looking for the mint state perfect coins that will be another story. Coins in mint state are very scarce.
The Denver Mint struck 5,638,000 coins. The Denver Mint's 1926 Buffalo Head Nickel were like the Philadelphia Mint and made with good overall quality. Very nice coins can be found, but finding coins with complete details will prove to be difficult.
The San Francisco mint only minted 970,000 coins. The 1926 Buffalo Nickel is considered a semi-key date coin for the Buffalo series. Two reasons are: The low number of coins struck and the condition of the coins that were struck. Most coins were only average coins with OK details. Coins with full details are non-existent and coins with sharp details are quite scarce.
